The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan issued a statement in which the head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan denies the claims of Armen Grigoryan, the de-facto secretary of the RA Security Council.
“Armenia’s initiative to create an international mechanism for the protection of the rights and security of the Armenian population of the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan during the negotiation process of the peace treaty and efforts to include a provision to that effect in the draft of the bilateral peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan are groundless, and such attempts will not yield any results.
We remind you once again that Karabakh is an inseparable part of Azerbaijan, the rights and security of the ethnic Armenian population living in this region will be ensured by the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” the head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan stated.
Let’s remind that in the speeches of the de-facto secretary of the Security Council, the claim to include a clause on the creation of a “visible international mechanism” in the so-called peace agreement, within which Baku and Stepanakert are supposed to discuss the rights and security issues of Artsakh Armenians, is a red thread. The last such statement was made just a few days ago while answering journalists’ questions when the latter had only one answer to all questions about Artsakh’s relinquishment of status and self-determination: “a visible international mechanism for the discussion of rights.”
However, Azerbaijan stubbornly insists that it is not going to discuss the rights of Artsakh Armenians in any way, depriving the de facto authorities of even this poor demand. Considering that the de facto administration has long given up fighting for the self-determination and status of Artsakh and prioritizes the rights of Artsakh Armenians, and Baku openly declares that it is not going to discuss them, we will have a contract without any mention of Artsakh Armenians, which will lead to the final depopulation and surrender of Artsakh.
